KİT-DER
KİT-DER was established in 1991 with the initiatives of Suat ÇAĞLAYAN in order to provide financial and moral support to children with leukemia and to establish a center in the future. This journey, which started with the name KİT-DER, has been continuing as a foundation under the umbrella of KİT-VAK since 1996.
WHAT İS KİT?
Bone marrow-stem cell transplantation is a process to replace the stem cells providing all the blood cells in the bone morrow with the healthy cells of another person. In this process, it is aimed to provide full recovery by replacing the improperly-functioning bone morrow stem cells as in Mediterranean anemia with the healthy ones, replacing the deficient cells as in congenital and acquired bone marrow deficiency, metabolic diseases, immune deficiency or eliminating the malignant cells in some childhood cancers especially leukemia.
Kansan Machinery Paper Industry and Trade Inc. have been supporting social responsibility projects and in this context, it has been continuing its bond of love with the Kitvak- the Foundation for Establishing and Developing Bone Marrow Transplantation and Oncology Hospital since 2010.
Kansan in 2010 and 2011; assisted in the construction of the Kitvak Guesthouse, which was built on a total area of 2700 square meters, with a capacity of 40 rooms and 102 beds, which was built by Kitvak for the accommodation of Oncology Patients and their relatives. The guesthouse was opened on 07 October 2011 and transferred to Ege University.
From 2012 to the end of 2017; Kansan contributed financially to the construction of Kitvak-Abdulrezzak Sancak Guest-House, which was built by Kitvak for the accommodation of oncology patients and their relatives, established on a total area of 4,400 square meters, with a capacity of 41 rooms and 82 beds. It was opened on 18 December 2017 and transferred to Dokuz Eylül University.
Kansan Machinery Paper Industry and Trade Inc. General Manager Sedat Gezer was elected as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the foundation on 24.02.2016 in order to make his bond official with Kitvak.
All aids that started with the New Year’s Kermes donation and continued in 2020 were used in the fourth major project of Kitvak, the Ege University Kitvak-Tülay Aktaş Hospital Cell Processing Unit project. With this project, Ege University Kitvak-Tülay Aktaş Hospital will be integrated with the most advanced health centers in the world in the field of cell processing, bringing innovations to our country, minimizing child losses, and providing necessary treatments for them to regain their health.
